Valentines Day

February 10th, 2009

If you’re looking to go out somewhere nice for Valentines Day I could not recommend Rubyo’s more. Liz is the owner and she will take care of you with Gluten Free.

For Valentines Day they will have a Degustation for $95 p/p.

Gluten-eater took me to their New Years Eve degustation and I could not have picked anywhere better myself. Liz modified everything in the menu for me so I could eat everything.

New places to eat!

February 6th, 2009

The holidays kind of blurred past, seeing lots of interstate family, then I was at work almost every day even though I wasn’t meant to, I got sick, there was New Years, Gluten-Eaters Birthday, back to work and My Birthday - It was all very fun though! So my holiday extended a bit longer than expected, but it was really only a holiday from posting - BAD :(.

I’ve found lots of things to write about and will take you back to your regular reading schedule as of now. Hope that everyone had a safe and happy holidays. To read about the two new places added to THE RESTAURANT MAP click here. These two new additions are thanks to comments by YOU! So if you have somewhere you would like me to add to the map, just comment.

Northside Produce Markets: This Saturday 20th December

December 17th, 2008

Northside Produce or North Sydney Organic Markets (depending who you speak to) are on this weekend. I love Organic markets because if gives me an opportunity to not only find some great Gluten Free products, but I can also get some shopping done too. Some nice cheeses, produce for salads and meats for a BBQ and the Summer holidays are set! I especially need to stock up for the Holidays because with all this time off I can tell I’m going to spend most of it in the Kitchen. Then I can write all about it too. However, I’ll be sure to make time for quality family and beach time as well. What are your plans?

There will be many familiar faces at Northside (some of which I haven’t had a chance to post about completely yet, however, the photos are up on Flickr and I have been updating Twitter so feel free to add me there.)

In the SIXTY stalls there: SWEETNESS will be there with their whole range of gluten free Mallows, Cakes and mouth watering Vanilla Caramel - I love the Vanilla Caramel and the Chocolate Coated Mallows the best I recommend you try some. Spring Hill Beef will also be there with their Gluten Free Sausages, which are very very yummy and nicely priced. I’m sure a BBQ is in order over the Holidays. Also attanding is Shepherds Bakehouse with some Gluten Free Bread or Slices (If you see the Banana Muffin or Raspberry Slice buy it!).

And that’s just the people that I know of so far. So when I get back I’ll tell you all about what other goodies I managed to buy. If you go, why not tell me all about what you bought?

The details:
Where: Miller Street, North Sydney between Ridge and McLaren Streets
When: 3rd Saturday of the month (that is this Saturday 20th December) - 8 am to 12 noon
Free parking: available in Ridge Street car park.

Good Living Growers Market

November 30th, 2008

This weekend, Saturday 6th December, is the monthly Good Living Growers Market @ Pyrmont. It’s the last for the year. I went about this time last year and found a few new and interesting Gluten Free products and think it’s about time to go there again to see if there are any more new Gluten Free products I’m missing out on.

I now know that Shepherds Bakehouse will be there with their Gluten Free slices, muffins and breads. I got to try these at the Gluten Free & Allergy Show. Buying some more slices and muffins will make the trip alone worthwhile.

Oh and in case you didn’t know it is completely free to go look!

Do you know anything else I should look out for at the Good Living Growers Market?

I can’t believe it’s not butter real bread…

July 8th, 2008

In the research phase I’ve come across a few bakeries doing some good and some even better loaves of delicious gluten free bread. Some are also untested. Since it will take me awhile to test them all or to write up the full reviews I thought I should let you know about them now!

Click here if you’ve forgotten what sandwich is like… or if you can’t wait to just have a plain piece of white bread!
